Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh Review

Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh was my neighborhood book club pick for November and December. I absolutely adored it and couldn’t put it down. Holiday Romance is book one in the Fitzpatrick Christmas Series, published in 2022.

Synopsis

Two friends, Molly and Andrew, are traveling together back to Ireland for the holidays like they do every year. They always spend the flight catching up since they maybe see each other once or twice during the year. But this year takes a turn when their seven hour flight is canceled because of a freak snowstorm. While Molly isn’t too disappointed about not seeing her family, she knows Andrew is heartbroken. Andrew loves Christmas and everything about it, so Molly will stop at nothing to make sure he gets home.

Together they embark on a journey to try and fly around the snowstorm, spending too much money and getting no sleep. When they end up under the mistletoe and are peer pressured to share a kiss, their purely platonic relationship starts to feel like a bit more. They spend Christmas together, discovering more about themselves and what they both want. Molly starts to realize maybe she didn’t recognize what has been in front of her the last 10 years.

Review

Holiday Romance is told from Molly’s POV. There are flashbacks over the last 10 years and all of Molly and Andrew’s flights together. The flashbacks were well placed and helped to paint a bright picture of how their friendship grew throughout the years. I would have loved to have had Andrew’s POV as well–I think that was all that was missing for me in this Christmas novel.

Andrew and Molly were the perfect characters for this friends-to-lovers novel. While I loved their chemistry and banter, I also adored the secondary characters. They were a delight and really helped to make this book all that it is. Zoe, Molly’s twin sister, was a fun character who kept us on her toes with her pregnancy. Christian was also interesting, broody, and mysterious. Walsh did a great job of making us want to know more about him. Her second book in the Fitzpatrick Series, Snowed In, came out this holiday season and focuses on Chrisitan and his story.

While I will not get a chance to read Snowed In this Christmas, I do look forward to reading it next year. This was a great holiday read and I gave it four stars. If you are looking for a last minute Christmas book, add this one to your cart or download it on Kindle Unlimited! Holiday Romance by Catherine Walsh is exactaly what you need this December!
